As 2023 drew to a close, the People of Wekiwa Springs (POWS) gathered in the heart of their beloved community for an unforgettable end-of-year celebration. 

In a recent op-ed for The Apopka Chief, Orange County District 2 Commissioner Christine Moore casts a spotlight on the essential ingredients for cultivating thriving neighborhoods. Her piece, aptly titled “Neighborhoods Make Great City,” underscores the importance of strong leadership in community development and lays out critical strategies for fostering unique, character-rich neighborhoods.

As 2023 draws to a close, the People of Wekiwa Springs and their business sponsors have achieved remarkable milestones in enriching the local area. They collectively contributed over $3,000 in supplies and devoted over 1,000 volunteer hours to various community projects. Additionally, nearly 2,000 pounds of trash were removed from common right-of-ways, significantly enhancing the community’s cleanliness and appeal.
