POWS Board Meeting 04/14/2026
Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm
Post cleanup event was discussed and it was suggested that we have a sign-up sheet at the next event to include phone numbers. Also, have leaders for each group and check in with them prior to leaving.
The fellowship hall will now cost us $75. Tammy made the motion to pay the church until the end of summer, Debbie seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. Pat is looking into getting a table at the library to hold our meetings after summer. We will not meet in July and August.
Tammy made the motion to purchase new stickers with “current sponsor”, Pat seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.
We discussed our goals for the summer; Kelly will work on the POWS vision.
The board will begin working on getting sponsors. Tammy will look into sponsorship levels and timing. Part of being a sponsor will include any signage they may have to promote their business. We would display that along with our own banner at our events.

Pat gave the financial report, we made $5.54. We are currently being charged $5 monthly by the bank. Pat will find out what this is for and how we can avoid paying.
The clean-up event was discussed; we will get phone numbers when checking in for the event. Jeff is going to look into getting a truck to pick up the trash after a clean-up.
We discussed increasing our membership. It was suggested that we attend HOA meetings. Tammy is going to find out what the cost would be to have a table at the Friday Night Fifth Street Market. Linda is going to look into getting a table at the Apopka Art & Foliage event for next year.
Members will try to get sponsors. Pat has a nursery that would like to become a sponsor. Tammy is getting sponsorship information together. We will also give each sponsor a copy of our vision for 2026. It was suggested that maybe the sponsors could choose from the vision list to participate.
It is a plan to get the district 2 candidates to come to a meeting in August. We will see if other people groups would like to attend.
It was suggested that we clean up the trail along with POSA.
The rummage sale and pancake breakfast will be May 30 from 8-12. Tammy will talk to Sue H. regarding advertising for the sale.
