2025 June Meeting Minutes

POWS Board Meeting 06/10/2025

The meeting was called to order at 6:28pm.

We will be moving the food drive for HOPE Apopka to September.  We will be preparing the bags with instructions on August 16^th.  Rick and Tammy will work on ordering the bags.  Sue G. and Tammy will put together a list of needed items.  We would like to include the POWS, Sprouts and OCPS logos on the instruction print out.  We will be stressing that the donations are staying local.

The second rummage sale will be moved to January.

We will do a clean-up in November.

POWS Meeting 06/10/2025

Meeting was called to order at 7:02pm

There was no speaker for this meeting.

We discussed moving the food drive to September.  The local schools are interested in handing out the bags for donations.  However, there were conflicts with the August date.  Sprouts will participate by allowing food to be dropped off at their store.  Christine Moore is having her bike safety event and Sue H. will ask if we can hand out donation bags at that time.  Saturday, August 16^th we need people to come to help prepare the donation bags.

Trunk or Treat is scheduled for October 25^th.

There will be a clean-up in November.  We would like to clean multiple areas.  I f there is a place anyone would like to see cleaned, let the board know.  Welch may be a good place to clean.

Rummage sale will be scheduled for January.

Orange county is putting in sewer at the church, date unknown.

Saturday, 6/14 is the last paint the trial date.  Meet at 305 E. Oak.

Some of the money from the “Fun Fund” will go toward the Christmas party.

Next meeting will be in September.
