The meeting was called to order at 6:26pm.  In attendance were Tammy Garich, Kelly Dawson, Pat Russell, Sue Garich and Angela Norwood.

Pat Russell presented the financial report; the church has agreed to let us hold our meetings in the fellowship hall through the end of the year.  The cost has decreased from $75 to $50.

Pat transferred $250 into the savings account to eliminate the $5 monthly bank fee.

We received a check for Corridor of the Year 2024 in the amount of $250.

The tax return has been filed for 2024 and the cost was $405.  Pat paid the accountant and she was repaid.  It would be another $405 for the 2025 taxes to be filed.  Pat will review 2024 return and determine if we can file 2025 ourselves.  She will advise at next month’s meeting.

It was determined that we would ask the members if they were interested in having Trunk or Treat this year.  We all agreed we would need at least 10 cars, and it would take place in the church parking lot on 10/24/2026.

Christine Moore is having a Strong Towns Apopka event the same day and has invited our members to participate.

Tammy will contact Jeff’s Bagel Run, Pack-N-Ship and Edible Arrangements to see if they are interested in participating in Trunk or Treat again this year.

Tammy will reach out to Kamia Brown and provide her with the opportunity to speak at next month’s meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:57pm

Tammy talked about the Strong Towns Apopka event and advised that Christine Moore is looking for volunteers to help the day of the event, 10/24/2026, from 8:00am-12:00pm.  She is also looking for volunteers to water the section of the trail with new plants.

The 4th quarter cleanup event was discussed, Debbie Mills suggested we work on Thompson after the construction is complete, possibly second week in November.

Mike Crabb, the Commissioner for District 2, was our guest speaker.  Mr. Crabb will continue to support the People Groups.  We were encouraged to contact his office with any questions or concerns.  There were some concerns about traffic in different areas; Mr. Crabb advised that anyone with speeding or traffic issues can email trafficcomplaints@ocsofl.com.  Phillip inquired about the sidewalk down Welch; Mr. Crabb explained that the sidewalk will be done in 2027/2028 and will go from Park Avenue to the trail.
