2026 June Meeting Minutes

POWS Board Meeting 06/09/2026

Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm

It was a very successful rummage sale.  We raised $582 at the splitting that with the church was $291.  Out of our money we paid the church $75 for the June meeting.  We deposited $256, Longwood Hills Church donated $40.

We are going to work on a clean-up for September.  Asking people to put in nominations for anyone that needs help with their yard.  We will put something on the website as well as on Facebook.  Debbie Stevens and Angela Lee will coordinate the clean-up.

It was discussed that we could start a backpack drive next May.

Pat Russell is looking into possibly changing banks, wo we don’t get charged for a minimum balance.  Pat is working with Olson CPA to get our taxes done.  The cost is $400.

Tammy will talk to Debbie Peterson regarding accepting $50 for our meetings instead of $75.  It was discussed that we could hand out information on the church at Trunk-Or-Treat, this is tentatively scheduled for 10/24.

It was suggested that we have a photographer at our events.

POWS Meeting 06/09/2026

Meeting was called to order at 7:00pm

We discussed the success of the rummage sale and thanks to all that helped and donated.  There will be no clean-up for Q2, target is for Q3, September.  We will be taking nominations for anyone that needs help.

Pat Russell will look into the backpack drive for next May.

We may be doing the sewer employee appreciation in January or February.

It was suggested that we get a sewer update in September of October.

Don Phillpott will be our speaker for September.

The board will look into other locations for our meetings.  Tammy will request the fee be $50, instead of $75.

There will be a meeting at Clay Springs Elementary on June 16^th from 6-8pm.  They will be discussing putting up new homes in the area.

Kelly Dawson reached out to the other groups to see if they would be interested in getting together.  She has not received a response yet.

It was suggested that we have the commissioner candidates speak in October.

Bob Samson was our guest speaker.  He discussed his book 27 Grievances which is available at Barnes and Noble.
